He is one of the best Canadian rappers. Born in Ontario, his real name is Jason D. Harrow. This hip hop ambassador of Canada is known for his distinctive music and unique style. Many people say that if you combine the talents of Akon and Sean Paul then the result will be Kardinal Offishall. He has been in the music industry for around a decade in which he has released three albums. His single Dangerous featuring Akon from his album Not 4 Sale is his best till date. Since 2007, Kardinal is working with Akon-backed Konvict Music.

Kardinal’s music is versatile and consists of catchy reggae influenced tunes along with dancehall, cruise types beats. Kardinal has featured with many other music icons such as Rihanna, Estelle, T-Pain and many others. His single from the album “Not 4 Sale” managed to reach number 5 at Billboard Hot 100. This album fetched him wide acclaim from music lovers as well as critics, majority of who went to give him 4 out of 5 stars.

“Naughty Dread” was the first single of this superstar which even fetched him a Juno Award. This song featured in Rap Essentials: Vol 1, which was released in the year 1996. In the very next year, Kardinal launched his debut album under the label of Capitol Hill Music, it was titled “Eye and I”. He also had a short stint with MCA records and he released an album titled Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1.

He then started his own production company named The Black Jays and came out with another album titled, Fire and Glory. The album however, was not as successful as Kardinal’s previous projects were.

However, things changed a lot in the year 2009 when he went into a contract with Konvict Music. He also won couple of prestigious awards like SOCAN Award and Juno Award; both of them were for this album “Dangerous”.

You will still find songs of “Dangerous” being played in discotheques, casinos and dance floor. Kardinal’s fans are waiting for even better work from him. In years to come we are going to see more and more of Kardinal’s music as he is currently working on many big projects.
